Our Purpose

To glorify God by Making Disciples Who:

  • Love God

  • Connect with Others

  • Serve the World

Jesus said that the greatest commandment is to love God with all that is within us.  Being a Christian is to be involved in a love relationship with the Heavenly Father.

God has also wired us to be in relationship with other people.  We all have the need to connect in meaningful ways with other people.

Our mission is to the world, not to ourselves.  Jesus teaches us to love our neighbor as ourselves.  Church is not about us, it is about loving God and loving those in the world around us.

Our Vision

We are driven by a vision to become a disciple making church where we can reach out to a whole region of western Stanly County, southern Cabarrus County and beyond.  To these ends we seek to provide vibrant worship services and opportunities for all ages to grow in their relationship with Christ.

Mission Baptist Church is a different kind of church.  Our goal is to open up to the world and interact with the community around us.  We are unified by our common purpose—to share the love and grace of Jesus Christ to the world and to enhance the spiritual journey of all who come.  We attempt to reflect God’s loving and caring nature so that Christ’s ministry of compassion can be extended to all those in need.

Our Values

We have identified several core values which we believe God wants us to take into every unknown place and time.  They are as follows:

  • Growth - As a church we must grow numerically and spiritually.

  • Vision - We should keep the vision before us where God is leading us to go.

  • Change - As Christians we cannot accomplish God’s will by staying the same.  We live in a rapidly changing world and therefore we must change in the way we do ministry in order to remain relevant.  However, we affirm the timeless and unchanging nature of the gospel message.

  • Freedom - Everyone should be free to discover and develop their spiritual gifts in a God-called ministry.

  • Accountability - Freedom must be accompanied by  responsibility.

  • The Church Scattered - As a church, we are called out to the world as well as called to gather in worship, fellowship, and study.

  • Mission - Our energy and resources should be directed toward the mission of the church as opposed to the maintenance of its programs.

Our Beliefs

  • Jesus Christ is the Son of God

  • Jesus was born by the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died for our sins on the cross, was resurrected, and sits at the right hand of God.

  • We believe in the Trinity: The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

  • Jesus is the only way to salvation, that we are born again by the grace of God and through our faith in Jesus Christ. we receive eternal life.

  • The Bible as our authority for life and practice.

  • The autonomy of the local church.

  • The priesthood of believers.
