Prayer Shawl Ministry

Sometime ago, a group of ladies began meeting to knit or crochet Prayer Shawls to be given out to people in the community who are going through a crises in their life (death or illness).  While knitting the shawl they will pray for the person whom the shawl will be given even if they do not know who that person will be.  When a person is identified who is going through a crises, they will pray for that person by name and one of the pastors will bless the shawl as well. The purpose of this ministry is to show God's Love and to bring comfort to the recipient.

When this ministry was started the ladies did not have any idea what a blessing this ministry would be to them and to ones receiving the shawls.  One person receiving a shawl said, "the shawl is wonderful source of comfort."  Another said she "knew everything was going to okay."

Anyone is welcome to join this group on the first and third Tuesday evenings each month @ 7pm.  Even if you can not come to the group meetings, you are encouraged to knit or crochet at home.  For more information you can contact the church office @ 704-436-6603 or submit the online registration below.
